One third of life is spent in sleep, the essential component of healthy wake-rest homeostasis. The Mattress is a permanently sealed product, made to support and comfort the body during sleep.

However, the human body varies greatly in weight, height, proportions, and size, all of which are subject to change during the lifespan of a mattress, meaning most people are sleeping on the wrong mattress.

Using a unique belt and hook joining system, The Layer Cloud introduces reconfigurability to the mattress. Simultaneously addressing changing needs and preferences of the user by offering a mechanism that encourages adaptability and customisability. A side benefit of the modularised solution is curtailment of excessive volumes of mass waste and enabling recyclability.
